    Where does this connect to?

I took off my intake manifold a few days ago and now I am reassembling everything. I had taken a shit ton of pictures but like a retard I just reformatted my PC with win7. I remembered where/how everything connected except this piece right here:

    any ideas?

also, putting the injectors back into the manifold...how deep do they go in? I am giving them all may might but I still feel I can see the orings. Is it better to put them into the manifold first then the fuel rail or vice versa?

That thing in the pic is the evap solenoid. It hooks to the bottom of the throttle body.

For the fuel rail/injectors, use a small amount of motor oil on the o-rings to help them go in easier and be less likely to break. I would put them on the rail first. Sometimes you have to push them down in to the intake pretty hard.

there is absolutely no room to get leverage and they just wont budge.

I was able to remove and reinstall with the injectors attached to the fuel rail.
Consider removing your spark plugs (I wish I would have thought of that when I was removing the rail). With my son's 90 325i, I had to remove the valve cover and get the crankcase ventilation hose out of the way to fit the rail underneath the intake manifold.

removing the spark plugs will make the inhectors go in easier because of the pressure?

in any case i believe I have them in flush now i did remove the vc.

here is what happened this morning: I went out and got a wild hair and tried starting it (tried all day yesterday and nothing) to my amazement it started right up it idle'd really rough but when i rev'd it hard it reved right up nice and smooth and I could hold the pedal in and it was fine. So I figured it was a intake leak or something so I took off the vc and made sure the injectors were in there really well. then i went over everything i had done today and yesterday everything was connected and tightened now it wont start at all =( im still not convinced its NOT the injectors...could it have anything to do with my bav auto chip or ecu?

next step is having my semi-new m50 injectors sent away to get cleaned and flowtested and new pintles (i think 1 or 2 of mine were cracked)
