Best years for a E30?

Not true tourings continued in production until 1994.

Best One ? Extremely subjective at best, as each have their own positive and negative aspects.

It depends on what your goal is really. 90+ if you must have airbag, 88+ if you want plastic bumpers. 86/87+ if you want ABS etc etc. verts are one of the heaviest.

Personally I wanted the lightest chassis I could get my hands on, but it required the most amount of work as it also came with drum brakes lol.

I think 87 eS/iS were the best, they worked out a lot of small issues. Personally I love higher arches and classic German tail lights. My second favorite is '89 iS.

325is-1990's born in 89, no air bags, plastic bumpers....
318is-1991 16v
325iX- 1988- no air bags, ellipsoids, only 310 made or 89 cuz plastic bumpers

My 90 325is was made in October 89 and does have an airbag. That being said I'd probably have to choose an 89 325is over all.

I personally hate the diving board look, but think the 87 325is front spoiler is bad ass. I tucked the bumpers on mine and now it looks pretty mean.
