    Who programmed my chip?

The chip for my 90 325is was sold by BMP design and has the code "M20.500" on it. I noticed that Bavarian Autosport uses the exact same code on their chip. So, I'm guessing it's a relabeled chip programmed by Dinan or Jim C. Does anyone know?

Don't know if they still do, but Active Autowerks used to make BavAuto's chips for them.

What does it matter who burned it?

arent all the chips the same? I looked at the stat charts for the dinan and JC chips (325e) and they have the same HP and TQ numbers. if they have the same numbers, wouldnt it be okai to just get a cheep one off of e-bay?

I've heard that the Jim C programming alters the entire rpm range from just off idle to redline, while the Dinan alters higher rpms only. I am just wondering which curve I've got.

Actually, it's JimC's alters the throttle across the map, while Dinan is only WOT.

Actually, Autothority in Virginia made the Bavarian Autosport chips, guess they make the ones for BMP too.

Not exactly. There is a difference between running at high RPM's at PT and WOT. Mystikal was mentioning the fact that the Dinan is mainly changed in the WOT map. (though this may have changed in the later gernerations of chips)
