Steering rack, and diff bushing questions

2 questions. one, i had a bad leak in my p/s somewhere. I was thinking of replacing the rack while the motor's out, if needed. I was just wondering what could be supplemented to have a smaller turning radius?

also, diff bushings need to be replaced. it's just going to be a street car, but it will have a stroker motor, and a 4.10 lsd. it will be daily driven though. should I get urethane, or stock?

If you want to get something inbetween the stock and urethane diff bushings, you can get an M-coupe bushing, which is an upgrade over stock.

I believe the '95 M3's steering rack is an upgrade from stock (can someone verify this?) I cannot remember the turns lock to lock.

E30 M3 rack is a direct bolt on with slightly shorter lock to lock ratio. E36 M3 is even shorter, and Z3 is the shortest, but neither bolt up directly.

that's the cheapest option. E30 M3 is the easiest upgrade.

The swap is a little different with the SRS-equipped e30s as the steering column is different than the earlier e30s w/o SRS.

If you have an SRS e30... one of the solutions for the e36 rack swap is to change your steering column to the earlier non-SRS steering column.

Just get the regular e30 rack. Rojaul is gonna get pissed if you keep trying to retrofit shit. Lol

im not trying to retrofit shiet. just trying to have all bases covered so i can take up as little garage time as possible. thats why im trying to scoop a new rack rather than wait till the motor is out to find what's leaking, and if the rack is still straight.

z3 (and probably all e36) racks will give you a larger turning radius at full lock. it does bolt right in, but you will need to modify your existing coupler, add spacers, and use a e36 high pressure hose. e30 m3 racks are easier to install, but compared to the e36 conversion they are not cheaper, unless your lucky enough to stumble across one at a salvage yard or have some sort of connection.
