    Tachometer problem

oaky i did a search and could not find the same problem every thing in my car works perfect execpt the tachometer i just had and electrical problem in my car i jumped the wrong pins i got that fixed to day :) all my fuses are good. The only thing i can think of is that i removed the speed sensor off the front of the engine and maybe i put it on wrong but i doubt it
if you have ANY suggestions about getting the tach to work LMK it worked perfect before the pin incident the car runs like a bat out of hell if that makes a difference
are there any relays that go to the tach
I never took the cluster out BTW

What pins did you jumper exactly? Speed sensor is in the diff at the back of the car. What did you remove?

It was the crank postion/speed sensor. And it was pins 19 & 17.

there are no sensors in the engine bay that send a signal to the tach - at least not directly. if something in there wasn't hooked up your engine wouldn't run. the tach signal comes from the ECU.

Yea we ran a few different ECUs, maybe it's the SI board.

this! i have the exact same problem. everything works except for the tach. sometimes it would work and then just die while driving. i replaced the SI board and it now works.

i guess it drained my battery quick since i never reset my service lights, it was always on.
