iX auto to manual swap...

Hi all, I am new to this forum and need some help.

I plan to buy a '89 325iX with an auto tranny (seems no manual one is available on the used market here) and swap later to a manual one.

So, the questions is: is the iX transmission is an ordinary Getrag 260 or a special model exclusive to this car?

No it is different.

it's a getrag 260, but it's an ix specific version that can mate to the transfer case.

yeah i'd be willing to sell my parts ix for 1100 its a manual sort of parted but still has everything need for the swap. I don't have time to deal with it anymore. I think the clutch stuff is new on it also, but i'll have the check the records from the PO.
