Before you go through all of that, try and find someone with the Miller unit installed and see what a difference it makes. This is a mod that really is not worth it, this version of Motronic is simply going to be a laggy bastard when it comes to throttle response, no matter what you do, primarily due to lack of a TPS. (Rate of change input)

Someone on the tech managed to get an M20 running with a swapped M50 harness out of the junkyard and was very happy with the difference. Not to mention all of the other nice benefits like coil packs.

If you are looking for better throttle response from an M20, you NEED better management. Period.

yeah. the flappy door causing throttle lag is a myth. It's lack of transient response on the part of the ECU. It's basically a lean spike during throttle tip in, the air enters in faster than the computer can compensate for it.

People usually have huge vacuum leaks that make the throttle extremely laggy. Their fix is typically bigger injectors and the M30 AFM, which of course makes their problems worse!

I did see that at one point but for the life of me I can't remember where and can't seem to find it now.
Besides the point this is my only car that I am daily driving. I'm not sure I would be able to do something like that in one day or a weekend.

I never said anything about throttle response, even though that would be nice. I'm trying to get rid of the restriction caused by the AFM and get something that I don't have to worry as much about it breaking.

        Are you in Michigan?
Do you want to know where all the E30's are?

I was not aware they broke that often. The real problem is people messing with them so the are no longer calibrated.
