    Fan clutch remove PITA

How the hell do you get the dam fan clutch off??? I have tried pulling the v belt tight, and jamed a screw driver between the pully and the timing chain cover that did not work. The pully just keeps slipping on the v belt.

Is there another way to lock the pully. It is a 318is.

    Thanks

Use the special tool if you can't wedge a long screwdriver between the bolts that hold the pulley to the wp and turn the nut with a thin open end wrench... it is reverse thread.

I had good luck with a large 1 1/4 wrench on the nut, and whacking the wrench with a hard plastic mallet to crack it loose.

And again, it's reverse thread. So hit to your right when facing the car.
