Yes, you are wrong. The 325 model ran from 1986 to 1988, but only in its final year was it a Super Eta.
    I think this needs clarification.

YES, there were eta cars from '86. They were badged 325e or 325es depending on trim.

NO, the 325 (no e or i suffix) was only for the 1988 model year. In 1989, all sedans got the "i" motor and plastic bumpers. All 325's ( no suffix) had diving boards

When the 325i motor came out in '87, the base sedans took on the 528e's upgraded eta motor that we call the "Super Eta". These cars were badged "325" No e or i.

I think the super eta was a brilliant motor for the American market. People who ride in my car are shocked to find it has only 127 HP! These cars were less than a second slower to 60 than the "i" cars. I think some of that has to do with the rear ends. The "i" cars got shorter diff sets as high as 3.73:1. The etas got 2.93:1 sets!

Sure, more power's fun and as soon as I can, I'd love to stick an M50/M52 in there. I think it actually weighs less than the iron blocked M20. 'Til then, I'll happily motor along in Super Etaville! :D

Sorry, but you're wrong. The 325 was also available in 1986 and 1987, and I also know this because my car is an '86 325.

so short and sweet, 88 325 means super eat but not in other years. I've never seen a 325 from another year, and in the bentley manual it only gives the 325 from 88 a chance to appear....no credit for other years.

...IBTL. Fred knows what he is talking about. As to why anyone thinks otherwise, is beyond me.

Cars simply badged 325 were etas that were of base level trim. They were available like that every year that the eta was offered. And yes, listen to Fred.

                I guess I don't "KNOW" Fred.

I do believe this place exists in order to learn and I only post when I feel like I have something to offer.

It also means I don't need to engage in pissing matches.

I went back to my 3 Series resources and yes, Lord Fred is correct.

                So............  FRED!

Oh, and IBTL? Not even close. I've seen shit flinging matches around here go on for pages....
