    "big six" AFM Question

For those of you that have done this, what did you do for the connecting tube (afm to intake manifold)?

Dave Adams at baye30 has a good write-up, but i am just looking at all of my options ;)

    Thanks, Sam

You can make original boot fit, looks like you cant but you can.

If it cracks after while, how much it cost like $20? Or you can put on until you find some kind of adapter or boot to fit it.

It's true as "Kavkazia" had said, I took like 3 flat screw drivers and some help from another person, my father in this case, and you can start with putting the bottom on 1st, then (prying/stretching) the rest on.

Does that fit really nice or is it all floppy around the TB? The M50 boot that is, also how much

Have any of you done this mod? Do you have to tune, or do yuo need additional parts like injectors? By the seat of your pants can you tell a difference?

It fits fine on my b25 throttle body. I don't use Motronic idle control though. I don't know what the cost is....around $25 or so I'd guess. I've been running this for quite some time.

New injectors in a b25 motor may be required. I'm running eta injectors which have plenty of flow for additional requirements.

the only thing that's really ghetto about my setup is the lack of a bracket (hence the ducttape).

The hose adaption i did works pretty nicely, and it ever-so-perfectly pushes the K&N filter as far to the front of the car as it can go. All i need is a heat sheild and cut myself a bracket and it will be good.

Hell, i didn't even have to swap electronics on my 535i unit. I'm not even running the SMT6 anymore!

All it takes is some good calibration of the meter...

I noticed the lack of an inlet in the bellow. How are you running with no idle control and not experiencing a really shitty idle? Do you run a separate engine management system? As for fit, it looks really good. What size cone filter are you using? Mine's rather large and tends to make it difficult to use anything other than the stock bellow. I've started work on a 90 degree mandrel bent aluminum elbow but I think the turn is too broad. The use of the e34 may be a better option. Thanks for posting the pictures.

modifiede30 i would think you would just crack the throttle open a bit like most cars do, if you dont use the ICV.
