I think you need to get the car up in the air, supported by the wheels, and have someone push/pull on the wheel while you apply an automotive stethoscope to various point on and around the rear suspension to find the source of the noise.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Are your half shafts new or rebuilt? If rebuilt those large ball bearings could be defective> i had a similar problem and the large balls in the half shaft were not perfectly round and they made a poping sound on take off and cornering only one side was bad.
      Good luck

        Are your lug nuts tight?

If I understand what you are saying, you can push the wheel in and out?? Thats really bad. Check trailing arm bushings, and make sure the new cv axle is fully seated in the hub.
        My previous build (currently E30-less)

My thought as well, sounds like something is loose.

Ya that would help alot. The weel has no play in it when I support the cars trailing arms with jacks.

They are rebuilt. But it doesnt do it when cornering only the intial load or unload of the suspension? Once IM driving it goes away.

Possibly binding driveshaft u-joint at the diff? I can see how that possibly do it only when the drivetrain is loaded on/off... I haven't seen if you checked that?

Ya but only at low speeds?I think it would do it when It shifts to and for sure when I shift hard. My u-joints seem fine. There serviceable maybe Ill just change them for the hell of it.

Do you have an open or limited slip rear end?

I just hope its not the LSD going to shit or the fluid I put in is making the lsd sorta lock up. ( I have a S 2.93 lsd )
That noise means that your LSD is working correctly, but you used a non-LSD gear oil. Add friction modifier an ounce at a time until the noise stops.

GM's friction modifier has a reputation for being the best available. After all of these year there are likely others just as good, but it's not worth your time to experiment.

Is the front axle/hub nut torqued down to spec? Sounds like maybe the hub is moving a slight bit.
