I will be installing a 92 M50 in a couple months. I am wondering what types of mods people have done to their current motors and how the E30 responds to all that power, as far as traction is concerned? What type of horsepower numbers should I be looking at for a goal? Either all motor or FI before it becomes "uselss power" (if there is such a thing)

Youd have a long way to go for useless power (more than you would get NA without major internal work). I have an S50 and I have trouble in the first couple gears but once I get moving in 2nd It goes like stink. That is usually the case for all powerful cars, traction control just kills the trottle until its getting traction, you can do that with the throttle/clutch.
M50+turbo/60%lockup diff= funIm now E30less.

with my m30 (bone stock) and restrictive exhaust (stock m20 exhaust) I can break 1st loose when ever I want, and the second offten times too.
It's been raining alot here - and when that happens, I'll almost break 3rd loose too.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?

A 'hammerstand' will break loose 1st or 2nd violently, that is if you use the throttle as an on-off switch. I can comfortably drive my car at full chat in the lower gears without wheelspin, but you have to use that thing called throttle modulation.

I have 245/40 R17 sport contacts on the rear w/3.91 & soft springs,
full throttle in 1st gear = wheel spin
full throttle in 2nd gear = slight wheel spin
full throttle in 3rd gear is fine unless you are going around a corner, then it does the open diff thing.
If it is wet you take the wifes civic, 4th gear wheel spin gets boring pretty quick.292rwhp E30 :D
