    M20B25 thermostat housing?

Hi, I have a 81 323i that i'm installing a 2.5 motor in. This motor didn't have a thermostat housing on it. What i'm wondering is there sensors on this housing or are they located on the radiator? I'm thinking of using my housing if possible. Thanks Jay

    Jay-

There are sensors on the t-stat housing of the M20B25 engine.

Maybe there's a difference between the years...

My 87is has the sensor in the (left) side of the radiator - only a bleeder screw and hose nipples on the t-stat housing...

Thanks guys. I think there is a difference between 87 and 88 up. I seen one on ebay that appeared not to have any sensors. I checked my harness and it has connections for sensors, so i'll try mine with the right sensors. Thanks Jay

The 2.5 will have 2 sensors on teh housing, there will be a blue connector and an orange connector on the harness for them.

              Pretty sure it's a 88 or 89.
