    yup the 524 came out of the 91 325ix 2dr manual the 153 is in the 88 325ix 2dr manual.
    Swappable? won't fry anything? then yippie, the ix will be back on the road.
    Someone please confirm.

      ECU swap did nothing still have the problem no fuel pump turning on, bad prong on main relay number 86 green wire should have voltage has nothing, any ideas welcome.

        Sorry I misread your post pin 85 is the ground that is controlled by the ecu which is what I had the problem with.
        pin 86 should be a Red wire on the Main relay

          I looked at the diagram I have no brn on the main relay just a green wire, and the green is the one that is bad, I believe now this is getting confusing, I was thinking of running a bypass line with a fuse and putting an extra switch on the console so I could flip the pumpo on and off as needed.

            That sounds dandy but if you wreck the car, your pumps will stay running cuasing a major fire hazard. I'd figure out what's up with your wiring. You sure you've got the right relay?

              we'll the relay's are identical between the two cars and they are both the same I only know of three relay's that are roommates in a condo by the coolant reservior, that are my problem I think that is the right position I'm going to consult the diagram you posted while starring at the problem.

                Well update is today I swapped the wiring harness out with my other ix and still the fuel pump doesn't click on WTF, I'm at my end on this, any ideas will be helpful, thanks.
