Why don't you just get 17's if you want small tires?

Anybody know what size wheels these are?

That's only 1.4" undersized.....or about .6" inch undersized from what I'll be rolling on. You have something against shorter, stiffer sidewalls on smaller diameter, and usually lighter wheels?Originally posted by DigitalwaveOh yeah, I forgot how cool it is to run tires that are 1.5" undersized.

It's not like he is after performance if he is running 215 tires on a 9" wide rim.Originally posted by rwh11385That's only 1.4" undersized.....or about .6" inch undersized from what I'll be rolling on. Whats the worst .6" can do to an E30? Throw off the speedometer by 4mph.
And its 215 on an 8" rim buddy. And if theyre not enough for performance I will just have some radials on my 14's. Those will have that great huge 60 series sidewall you love so much. And I can use those at the autocrosses. But I think I can get away with using my 15x8 RS's with .6" undersized rubber on daily commute where Im not racing to get to school. They mostly gotta look good and function. And they would. But if somebody could please tell me the REAL tire size on the Breyton E30. That would help me much. ( the real reason why I created the post )
Thanks for all your opinions. ;)

You didn't qualify "for a show car" or anything. In this and the other post I quoted, you simply are making fun of the tire size, not even what wheel it is on. Maybe a little streched, but I'd rather have a 215 on a 8" than a 225 on a 7" because it looks better.......hell, i think 215 on 7.5" would be just about right.....8" wide not that bad.
propcar, it's .6" more undersized than what undersized tires I'm going to run, but 1.4" smaller than stock. But who cares? It's like having a 3.91 rear end for cheap.

Re: Anybody know what size wheels these are?
I'm starting to think that they're 225/45R16s on 16x8's. First I thought they were 225/50 on 15x8s because they do have the slight sidewall bubble, but it looks like the sidewall is too small to be a 15 inch wheel. However, if you think about it, that isn't an undersized tire. Look in front and behind each wheel. Undersized tires leave too much of a gap fore and aft of the wheel due to the less overall circumference. But THOSE tires fill out the wheel well completely, so they can't be undersized.Originally posted by propcarWhat size wheel and tire are on this Breyton demo car?

Thanks in advanced.[/img]
So anyway, I'm gonna be different from the rest and say 225/45s on 16x8.
EDIT: If indeed they are 15s with undersized rubber, I don't think 215/45 on a 15x8 would have any sort of sidewall bubble. Maybe they're 215/50R15 on 15x8?
EDIT2: Ok, my official vote is 215/50s on 15x8. They do look small for 16s.

Who said I was going for all looks?? I just know that my RS's are gonna look better with a smaller side wall than a big one. I know what style is.Originally posted by Mystikal

TJ doesn't have balloon tires
The tires on the breyton car don't look very stretched to me
Just because a tuner has a big name, doesn't mean that they are the end-all source of information and they do everything correctly
you, sir, are a closed minded toolshed
edit: note-I am indeed sober today
and look now, everyone thinks you're cool now that you've posted pictures of your VW with undersized tires! That makes everything okay..
and btw, you just said it yourself that you're getting them for looks

ummm yeah. but Im not all about looks. but I like my $2000 wheels to look good. Woudlnt you? And if you dont, I really dont care. Im more open minded than you would know. But all I hear when I post a car I like is bla bla bla undersized this and that. I think the red car looks good. It barely has a stretch at all.. And all Im trying to find out is what tire and wheel size he has so I can replicate it. But you guys seem to be missing the point of this post and insist on inflicting your opinion on undersized and stretched tires.Originally posted by BrysonTJ doesn't have balloon tires

EDIT: I thank C ///M for giving me a informative post. Thanks friend.
