    steering wheel wobble

The steering wheel in my 318is wobbles. I swiched the wheels front to back but it still does it. It also understeers like a bitch but thats another story. When it wobbles it also makes this little noise in the wheel that makes me think its going to fall off. there seem to be multiple wheel weight marks on the wheels where wheel weights have been previously. This makes me think that either they fell off or they have made many attempts to solve the problem. the car is also slightly out of alignment and pulls to one side. Are there any common worn out parts that would cause this problem?

ball joints.. they're probably toast. jack your front end off the ground, and with the steering wheel locked see if you can move the front suspension around. I can move my left front wheel about a half inch.

Check wheel balance, ball joints and tie rod ends, control arm bushings.

well on the way to school i figured out it was a lot worse then i thougth with the wheels switched. the wheel wobbles at almost any speed now but ther is some chuncks of rubber off the outside of the tires so its understandable.

it seems like i could push the top on one of the wheels inward a bit, havent jacked it up and further inspected it tho. Any one know where i can get cheap balancing? like $20 for all?

ball joints first.. unless you know your control arms are newer. a bearing will make noises, but it won't neccesarily wobble.
