My first BMW was a 72 2002 I got it in 1980 for 700.00 (what a bargain) It was hardly maintained and it turned out it had frame damage that cost 1200 to fix, I literally replaced everything but the body at a cost of over 7k (plus the 1900 I spent to buy it & repair the frame)

The only thing that saved me was it was rearended in the fast lane of the 405 in Carson, Ca. ripping off the fuel filler fender and igniting the gastank causing the car to explode (firewall worked in reverse) only usable parts left were the engine & front suspension. The driver that hit it was drunk & I was paid every penny I had in reciepts. The adjuster said he had never seen so many reciepts. I bought a PERFECT 72 2002Tii for 4500 and all was well until an asshole ran a red light & totaled it :(

Moral of the story: Stay away from cheap poorly maintained cars.

if i got a dollar for every car i thought was going to be "the one", i'd have a small fortune. looking at 15 year old cars, you are bound to find many issues making them less of the gem u thought they were by looking at an ad, or talking to the seller over the phone.

go see the car. futile making posts like this. good luck w/ your search... seems to me u are probably too anxious to get in the drivers seat of an e30.
you are right, I thought about it myself, and I'm not going to get a car until late march. That's it! I have some more important stuff to worry about like SAT, I was very anxious to get in the drivers seat of an e30, but now (I'm still anxious :D ) I'm actually thinking that there are a lot more e30 out there than just these three. I will find one if I'll be patient. If I will rush myself, I'll buy pos, and that has been already proven by many people. That is all. :)
