    Tuning question

If i were to put new cams and bigger injectors in the m50 would i need a programmable chip or standalone to run it? Or can you tune the stock motronic system? I know nothing about tuning so go easy.

get a chip made for the hardware you use

Like ActiveAuto, or find "Matt" here on the r3v

it depends how aggressive the change is. if the injectors are only a few CCs off you could get away with it without washing your cyl walls with fuel.

if the cams are going to be super lopey, i don't think so.

You'll get more power if you tune it anyway.

I know ill get more power, and im doing it eventually either way i just wanted to know if i could get away with it for now. The cams arent too aggressive, im having them reground to m3 specs and the injectors are probably gonna be no more than a few cc's larger.
