SRS Airbag Light Reset Help?

I've been searching the forums and google. Have we found a way to reset the airbag light without using the BMW special tool?

Alldata says that if you don't have the special tool to disconnect the battery for 20mins(?) and it SHOULD reset the light. I had the guy do that to the car and the SRS light is still flashing, then staying on a consistent on.

wtf is taking so long? is it that complicated? I plan on swapping to an M Tech 2 wheel soon. If I disconnect the orange box will the light stay off?

If you disconnect the orange box the light will stay on.
