    Bending Heater tubes

I was wondering what most people used to bend the heater tubes when doing their M50 swap. Just trying to figure out how much heat you used and what you grabbed the tube with to bend it. I want to make sure everything is done right because you have to bend them quite a bit to go from aimed about 30 degrees up to 30 degrees down.

To bend mine, I went to the local hardware store and bought some metal pipe that would slide a few good inches into the tubes. Others have used solid rebar. I used a propane torch to heat up the tubes. The heater tubes are aluminum. I just took it easy, some heat then bend, some more heat and bend some more, etc.

I have a spare set, if you would rather do it outside the car on a different set.

Thanks Jordan but the time it would take to get them is a bit much. I will just take my time using real light heat then.

Yes Nando it is in progress right now, not sure if I will have it done in time or not. Is the March 13 autox in Bremerton or Everett?

Everett. I'll be there with my leaky exhaust and non-functioning throttle switch.. at least my ball joints aren't falling apart anymore. ;)

I forgot to bend them before i put the engine in, so i took some stainless stock bar and put a hook type thing on it, and just bent it from below the car, it worked pretty well.. I dont think you need to be all that gentle with it really.
