    Seafoam

Has anybody here seafoamed their cars? Is it worthy? Share your experiences, results, opinions. Of course, E30 experiences preferrably, others welcome too.

This is R3V, who hasn't Seafoam'd their car? We do it just to put up a good smoke cloud and sit back and laugh.

but on a more serious note. I run a little in my oil every now and again, a couple hundred miles before the oil change. I run some in the gas every few thousand miles and suck about a pint through the intake once, usually just when I buy a car.

Used it on the m50, smoothed out the idle a bit and made it ran a little smoother, nothing huge but noticeable. And the smoke show was fun too :D

works. I put a bottle in a 1/4 tank of gas, 1/2 bottle in oil, 1/2 bottle in intake, change oil couple hundred miles later.

mmmmhhh...interesting. I never did it. I actually thought you only had to let it suck it through the intake.

+2, used it when I first bought my cab...
helped out alot with the idle...
that and replaced all hoses, filters and pressure regulator...
starts like a BMW should now,
just reach in the window and turn the key,
              no throttle input needed...

only smokes when you suck it through the intake and let it sit. The longer you let it sit the more smoke you get. Only lasts about 2 min. at wide open throttle.

I used it on my e30 and civic, helped on both cars. Used it on my friend's miata and it killed his o2 sensor haha.

I should probably do it. My car has 195,000 miles and i bought it recently.
Is there anything that should be worried about while doing it?

Make sure you don't leave a whole bunch of it in the intake manifold (rubber parts). I had it blow in my wife's 318ti a few years ago, and popped one of the tubes off its clamp; no damage though. I usually just loosen up one of the manifold boots close to the aluminum part and slide a small hose in there. Let it suck it up slowly till you see some smoke out the exhaust, wait a little bit and keep smoking, then choke it out by letting it drink freely. You might need to blip the throttle to get it to take a big gulp and die from being too rich.

Wait 10 or 20 to fire it up and drive the piss out of it.
