    Super ETA Head

Jst wondering if its worth anything? got my hands on a complete Super ETA motor. Valve cover looks the same as the 325i's.

I think the block is what's worth money, because you can just bolt on an i head and have it close to the right compression for a cheap 2.7i

The super eta head is a 325i head, just with single valve springs and a different cam.

The block is the same as a standard eta block, Nando. It just has different pistons, those are the only thing really worth anything.

You'll want to put at least a standard i cam in it, if not an upgraded one.

Wat about the intake mainfold should i use the one from the Super E? since its a 2.7 its prolly bigger than the I mainfold.

The Super E head is the same as the I head - just different valve springs and cam. Some even have the 7 oil journals drilled out. If you have the 7 oil journals I wouldn't bother unbolting the head unless you're putting on a rebuilt head or doing rings or something like that.

I believe that the super eta intake manifold is similar to a regular eta so you should go with the i manifold / throttle body.

As josh said all you need to know about the head, and NickP: it does have 7 oil journals. If you want turn the super into a 2.7i by changing camshaft, valve springs, intake manifold and tb. Then change the super motronic to a i ecu. I believe the supereta manifold is even smaller than the eta manifold, but with longer runners.

From what I understand, the "e" (eta) head only has 5 out of the 7 cam journals drilled for oil flow (I have a bare "e" head in my garage and have verified this for myself). The super eta and "i" heads are the same head with the exception of the cams and springs (single for the s-eta and double for the i). If you bolt on the "i" parts (cam, springs, intake, tb, ecu, etc.) you end up with a stroked 2.7L "i".
