My cruise control is making a loud clunking noise, like a jackhammer. It will not stop.
It only does it below 25 mph, and it will stop if I hit the brakes (just enough to engage the brake light switch, which also trips the cruise control)
It will do it with the engine on or off. I removed the cable from the cruise control unit, and it's still making the noise. If I pull on the little tab in the cruise control unit that the cable connects to, it changes the speed of the clunking.
The cruise control does not work now. It did before this shit started happening.
Also, how the hell do you unplug the piece of shit? I was standing on the side of a road in rush hour trying to unplug it, and it looks like the wires go through the firewall? Is there a plug back there or did BMW conveniently hardwire the piece of shit into the car?
