    Would bad TPS throw CEL?

Getting a CEL after performing clutch job. I thought it might have been from tweaking my 02 sensor wires when removing the exhaust (ford 02 retrofit), or the addition of a new cat-back (don't know why that would trip CEL)

But after checking the wire connections, and clearing the code, it persists.

Stomp test does not work, so I'm thinking that the TPS could be bad, as I understand that being functional is required for stomp test to work. Would the TPS going bad cause CEL?

I am not noticing any adverse affect while driving, car doesn't sputter, idles correctly and smooth...no weird cut outs at WOT, so I'm having hard time believing the TPS is bad in first place...

my TPS was completely gone and i didnt get a cel.

a bad tps would give you start up issues. also surging while the car warms up.

Yeah, no starting issues, and no surging while idling...but I notice that if I try to hold steady at 1500 rpms while the car warms up, the RPM will surge a bit, but I figured that was just the DME trying to play catch up with the A/F while it warms.

A bad TPS won't cause a CEL, but it will prevent the stomp test from working.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
