2k rpm when starting then dies

my car starts fine, but has a high starting rpm at 2k then dies after the crank...

the vacuum advance relay, fuel pump relay, and ecu have all been checked and cleared, the problem seems to be the fuel pump not getting power or not transfering fuel after it gets a signal. should i replace the fuel pump? any ideas what the problem could be?

take off a fuel line and see if its actualy pumping anything out. also change your fuel filter. and if that doesn't solve it then its either your pump not putting out the psi or its doing nothing either way its crapped out on you. change the pump fues first tho.

a fuel line was cracked and pins were jumped to test the pump. the pump works fine on start but doesnt produce power after the crank. the ignition switch is fine. does the pump get a signal from another component at some point?

iirc the fuel pump relay controls the pumps operation during running conditions - i think it has some internal circuitry to keep the pump on when the rpm is >400 rather than this being controlled by the ecu...

i'm not absolutely certain of that, but i would definitely try swapping in another relay to test it. if you dont have one maybe a wrekers or parts place would let you try one to test it
