    Trailer hitch

I was wondering if any or you guys have a trailer hitch on your car. I would like to see some pictures of one mounted. How much weight have you hauled with it. I have a plastic bumper car. I was looking on the Curt website. Their hitch is rated for 200lbs of tongue weight and 2000 total pounds. I haven't found any other places yet besides U-haul.

I do. ClassIII Reese universal hitch.

only pic I have of it installed

and here's one towing trailer. Most I've had hooked up so far is roughly 600lbs, and had no problem breaking 80mph a few times and very comfortable ride at 70mph.

How did you hook it up? That doesn't look like the one you bolt to the spare tire well. Cool trailer though. I have a parts car I could do this with. Where did you cut the body at? I'd love to see more pictures of your hitch and the trailer. How much does your trailer weigh?

i have no other pics, but I bolted hitch up to the trunk floor right inside of the frames.

I'll take pics and put them up for you.

Here are some pics I have of my setup. It bolts to the back of the valence and the floor of the spare tire well. I have towed quite a few things in my trailer including an M30 with engine crane, M20 and full exhaust, and an M50 with an engine crane. It works great but you have to anticipate long stops with the added weight.

I was thinking of getting one of these

and bolting it to the spare tire well, as well as welding up some other reinforcements. Hopefully very unlike that one posted.

The problem with a lot of the ones posted is that they just have a hole to mount a ball. I want a actual receiver for a bike rack

I'd like the OEM one but it's NLA. I've got one like MR 325 posted but haven't put it in.

any hitch you get for an E30 is going to be a class 1. you might be able to make a class 2 fit somehow but you might bend the car in half trying to tow that much..

about 2 years ago, our local dealer had 2 OEMs either on the shelf or in Germany and could order it for $230.
