    Rolling back the odometer

No I'm not trying to be snky and illegal. My touring needs a U.S. gauge cluster before I can register it here. I have a gauge cluster, but it has 160k miles on it. I just want to change it to the equivalent of 161,000 kilometers.

i forget, what is the conversion again? 2.2 km for every mile?

and how hard is it to roll back the odometer? I just pulled the cluster and put it in the trunk, haven't looked at it yet

I rolled back an old one. It's really easy. Take the speedo out of the cluster and jam something into where the numbers turn and turn them.

wouldn't it be the other way around?

I'm trying to convert 161,000 kilometers to miles. so wouldn't it be less miles?

Took me about an hour ot roll my odometer up (same way to roll it back)

You gotta rip the entire thing apart, remove the gauge face, remove the side gears, pull the pin which holes the numbers in place and reposition everything.

Its kind of hard to explain, but its pretty obvious that its kind of a pita

you said "but it has 160k miles on it." so i would assume 160 thousand miles would need to be changed to km if you were changing to km. if you were doing it legaly why would you want the equvilant of 161,000 km into miles that would be 100040.76195 which would be less miles then are actualy on your car which would be illigal.....

The chassis has 161 km on it, the cluster he has says 160k miles. He needs the cluster to say 161 km in miles.

              161000 kilometer = 100,040.7619502 mile
