Water In Trunk (Found the Leak)

The trunk seal doesn't seal at all. I stuck my head into the trunk through the ski hole while my buddy hosed down the rear window. Basically 95% of the water ended up in my trunk. It just curls around the trunk lid and goes straight into the trunk. I put a new seal on it in the fall, so what do you guys recommend? I tried tightening down the trunk catch, but it doesn't do anything and becomes way too tight. This is really aggrivating.

on the trunk lid there are black height adjusters.... turn them in, it will let the trunk lid sit down lower... closer to the gasket.... but that sounds like a really big leak

Are you talking about the actually catch (latch) or on the hinges? Is it possible that the rear window weather seal is gone? Is that strip supposes to seal against the trunk lid? I'll take a look at my parts car to see if it has the same problem. It pisses me off because it leaks water right where I would like to mount my audio gear, so for now everything is zip tied to the sides to stay dry. I'll take a closer look after exams.

They should be round black rubber stubs that you can turn to adjust at the bottom of the rear corners of the trunk lid.

are you sure it's not just your tailight gaskets that are probably hosed?

I'm pretty sure the taillights are at the back of the trunk, not at the base of the windshield. It looked like a waterfall coming in at the front of the trunk. 95% of the water poured in that area made it into the trunk.

Does anyone make a "taller" seal? One that will seal better?
