    A GOOD and curious question...

I have a question about the recirculating button on the ac. Mine is an 87 325ic by the way. When you push to the right the middle lever on the ac control panel and your speed dial on the fan is on 0, are you supposed to feel air coming through the vent when your on the highway?? Someone told me that thats the reason my ac wasnt cold because everything else is good. Does the recirc. button have anything to do with this.. I think im getting outside air mixed with cold and thats the reason.. Thanks for any help...

Any time you have either the A/C or recirc on, the fan is turned on to position 1, even if you set it at zero.

if you want to check the recirc. system, go under the hood and check to see if both recirc. flaps close. sometimes they'll stick after being open for years, and you can break them loose, and they'll be happy again.

air will just blow in like it does in almost every other car. pushing the recerc button will close the vents (if the a/c is off you should be able to hear it closing) but you will still get a small amount of air in. just send it all up to the windshield if it bothers you.

you're a/c probably isnt cold because its a 25 year old car. the amount of air coming in is minimal, so check the refrigerant's pressure. also, make sure you push the a/c button AND the recirc button to get the inside cool.
