    Vibration over 60mph???

    1989 325is
Couple days ago my car started vibrating pretty bad when I go over 60mph and if I reach 80mph it's unbearable. I cruised at 80mph twice with this problem and it sound like a flapping noise and I thought I lost a chunk of tread off my tire, no joke bc I heard something fall off. Accelarating up to that speed there isn't a problem. The vibration feels like it's coming from the front driverside wheel. It almost sounds like there's a nail in the front tire. Any help is appreciated. I'm going to get under the car tonight after work. I don't know if it's the guibo, CSB because the sound comes from the front driver side tire and it even pulls that way.....

Take a look at the suspension & wheel bearings to see if wear is a cause. Then have the wheels re-balanced and check for a bent wheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thank you. I will check the wheel for bends and missing weights. The wheel bearings are brand new, installed two weeks ago. The suspension is brand new KW coilovers also installed two weeks ago.

how reputable is the install? that's where I'd worry since it's the most recent change.

By suspension I was referring to the control arms, bushings, tie rods, wheel bearings, and upper strut mounts. Not the springs & shocks.

put a spare on there and see if the vibration persists.

i'd double check all balljoints if it does. raise that corner of the car and jerk the wheel around. see if it has any play.
