I installed one, very easy, just remove the freeze plug and hammer in the heater element (a bit fiddly to get in but not hard), takes only a few min.

heats up the coolant so its warm and nice when u start the car, very good for the engine when u dont crank it when it -32C outside :pComment

well the ones with power steering has an adapter on the oilfilter so the filter is 90 degrees in another direction. I don't have power steering on my carComment

all of my e30s had one, except the black one because it's orignally from the PNW.
