Steering wheel locked in.. stuck on steering column

I have a quick release hub that I wrenched in to the steering column. The steering wheel lock is on it and now the wheel is locked in and i cant turn the key because its in that stuck position!! what can I do!?

Put the key in the ignition and with one hand wiggle it as far as you can to each side, or put alot of pressure on it on one side and turn the key when it releases. Don't break your key, the key itself needs no more pressure than normal. You'll feel silly when you get it, pretty simple.

I tried what you said & it really is stuck! tried wiggling it as far to each side and the pressure one side.. It just wont rotate and turn! The lock is stuck on the hub

+1, you have access to it, and will most likely do more damage trying to remove it any other way.

                        is it a bad option?

you could also use an air chissel or a maltov cocktail.

What if I just change the tumbler.. curious as to if this can help lower the lock.. you know?

if you can remove the tumbler assy, then you may be able to retract the lock pin. otherwise you are fucked and need to dremel the the lock off to release the wheel. just dont beat on it with a hammer, you will fuck things up worse that way, than just dremeling off the offending lock piece
