Actually did go for a dyno but results not good due to trial and error mapping.... so have redone everything again based on the results I got...

won't be so soon for the next run....

butt dyno tuning doesn't cut it.... :)

the chart on the first page is wheel hp. 120 x 1.15 = 138 which is good for an m42

not to mention the fact that it was close to 40ºC outside. That probably took a bit of it's performance.

oh yes... can feel the sluggishness in the tropical heat... Dyno was done at about noon time...

anyway, I just changed my fuel pump and can really feel the difference... and btw, it isn't an original BMW fuel pump... and a new fuel pump used in the Mitsubishi 1.8 DOHC 4G92 engine..... car is pulling faster and torqueier.... would be interested to know the dyno number now...

Why the Mitsu fuel pump... ??? well... a new E30 in-tank fuel pump is RM750 (~ USD200) while the mitsu fuel pump is RM220(~ USD60).. and it worked just as well.... maybe even better...

photo of the modified fuel pump

the pump is the same size... just need a longer hose to connect... and cut a bit of the bottom bracket for the filter....

Expecting flames from some of u guys.... bring it on....

Just sharing an alternative for some savings....

Oh well... Even the ori fuel pumps are made partially with plastic.. this would be able to last... even if it does get brittle, the fuel pump would still be in place... it was there for assurance...

Anyway, I might be wrong but will check on it few months from now.... so what would u suggest for alternative???
