    just sum basic questions

Hi. I bought an '87 325is a few months back and I'm flying down to Florida in a weeek to get it and drive it back to NY. There is no owner's manuel with it so I have a few questions. What viscosity oil does it require? Also, what kind of coolant does it use? My friend mentioned there are different types but I know nothing about this. As far as I know there is just the green stuff you can get at every gas station. I just wanna cover the basics so I don't get stuck somewhere half way.

    Thanks alot!

15w40 is a pretty safe bet for any enviroment. Go thinner or thicker as needed with the temperature.

It really doesnt matter what color coolant you run. Most people run 50/50 green.

the color doesn't matter but it should be non-phosphorous.
