    S14 timing

My buddy and I just rebuilt his S14 with the 2.5 stroker kit and were putting the finising touches on it and went to put the plug wires back on to it only to find out we couldnt get it to run at all. So we thought it was a timing advancement but it appears you can only put the rotor on the s14 one way. So we played around with the spark plug wire order and got it to backfire constantly at one point and almost run. How do you adjust the timeing and in what order do you put the plugs on the cap correctly for it to run?

make sure you've got the firing order correct. it should fire 1-3-4-2

Yea, and get #1 at TDC and see where the rotor points. Put the #1 wire there, followed by 3-4-2 in the direction of rotor rotation.
You sure the cam timing is correct? Got compression? fuel pressure?
