Heater Problem

My heater is not blowing hot air. (blower motor works fine)Can anyone tell me what to look for as far as troubleshooting? :?

Check the valve on the driver's side of the heater core to see if it's working.

Is your car getting up to operating temperature? If not your thermostat is probably stuck open. If it gets up to temp properly, your heater valve might be faulty. Has any part of the cooling system been opened recently? If it has you might have air in the system. All of the above problems will cause poor or no heat.

not to steal your post, but where is the blower motor located. and how do i get to it, is it easily accesable?

To get to it you have to remove an access cover on the top of the firewall. The cover is held on by 4 bolts and 2 plastic nuts. To remove it you'll have to unclip the wiring harnesses that are attached to it. Once the cover is off the blower motor housing will be visible. There are two straps you have to remove to get the housing cover open to get to the blower motor. Once its open you can unplug the wires and unclip the blower motor and remove it. It isn't that hard of a job.

Just be careful with the fans on it, they are real brittle, you have to move it around a little to find the correct postion to remove it, or you'll end up cracking it.

Very true, I forgot about the cages being fragile. I'm glad you mentioned that Dan! :up:

Also, i am having trouble getting the clip part on, is there a trick to doing this why is it seem so difficult.

The squirrel cage on one of the two blowers i have is broken the good one i have that i put into my car is now no good as the clip popped off soon as i was leaving the house and rubbed hardcore against the heater core. :evil:
