    E30 Differential Swap

Will a 3.73 Limited Slip Diff from an E30 M3 fit into my e30 325i?

    Thanks for any advice...

    E30 M3s come with 4.10s, not 3.73s

but in any case they are the same type 188 diff, so yes.

+1. Nando knows e30s, no doubt.

Ahh yes, a 4.10 instead of 3.73. Any experience with this conversion, will my gas mileage suffer horribly as a result of higher revs on the highway?

        Thanks guys.

I dont think gas mileage would suffer that. i have been looking to get a 4.10 and i think i read that its only a 300 rpm higher difference

the MPG loss between 3.73 and 4.10 is maybe only 2 mpg, when i went 4.10s i just started driving harder so i only get 15mpg in town and 23 freeway
            Much wow

i always felt like the 4.10 was a bit short for m20s, atleast ones that aren't highly modified and need high revs. 3.73 is good, or try to find a 3.91 from an automatic car if you think you need a shorter final drive. then again, tons of people have 4.10s in their 325's.

automatics come with 4.10s too, 3.91 is only for the 325ix manual

                  I've done the 4.10 thing, I prefer the 3.73 with my M20.

4.10 decreased my mileage about 1-2mpg. It was almost necessary for me living at elevation. Power loss ftl, it was just dangerous trying to pass at highway speed going up I-70 without the 4.10.

Amen, with a manual car I dont care for the 4.10, 1st gear useless...

always thought M3's were small case and regular e30s were med case...

E30 M3 4.10s are med case and E30 318is 4.10s are small case. Correct me if I'm wrong...
