ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH fitting rear mtech1 bumper IS F@#$D any help?

Guys seriously FUCK. Pulled my bumper of to check for rust and its a fucking mission to get back on. I pulled the rubber strip off not realising that its held on by 15 of these clips http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...51&fg=15&hl=64 part number 9 . Now on my car the tech 1 kit is held onto the bumper mount by these clips. They slide into the channel of the rubber strip and then they have a one way christmas tree arrangement to grab the the under side of the bumper mount. Any ideas on how to get them back in the rubber strip and the bumper mounted??? Ive tried pushing them on but to no avail. They just really dont seem to want to go in far enough to grab the two locking pegs

you don't use those clips with a valance....you only use them with the bumper/strip only. if you have a valance you use special bolts/nuts instead

yeah i know but on my car thats not how it has been fitted for some reason. I dont know this car has some weird shit cause its a japanese version. The hole valence/strip assembly is fitted to the valence mount by those clips.

I'd recommend buying the correct mounting hardware (as linked to above). I'm guessing someone added the valance at a later without doing it 100% correctly. It will work a lot better. I tried (and succeed) using the clips the first time, but it caused the trim to get pulled in too much and made it look lumpy. Obviously, it sounds like yours was like this always so everything might line up right if you can get it back.

You can try to get them in by using a long pry bar. My method was one of the long flat head screw-drivers. It was just wide enough to where I could stick it in the clip from the inside and hammer it in and lock the clip in.

I don't understand you. Are you sticking the screw driver between the rubber and valence mount or the behind of the valence mount. Because my car has had the mtech1 valence mount fitted so the two front bolts that it mounts to have been replaced with a clip and a self tapping bolt. Locations and the way it was put together suggests factory which is weird. I will get the correct hardware when i do my respray in December for now id just like to drive it lol.
