Oh damn, so many variables for such a problem.
Where's the fuel filter/ fuel pump located?

          Fuel Pump Relay
          Crankshaft Sensor
          Fuel Pump
          ECU

Can I buy either of those relays at a generic auto store? I'd really like to get my car going by tomorrow.
Also is there a way to test the relays to see if they're working? I'd rather not shell out $30 for a relay that won't fix my problem.

Went to radioshack and got a 12V 30amp relay..
Put it in my main relay, tried to start it up, nothing.
Waited 5 minutes, put the same relay in my fuel pump relay and it started up relatively quickly. Hurray
Drove it around, did about 3 miles, woot this is going swell
going down the block to my house, sputtering and misfiring like a two-step anti-lag system again, then shuts off and doesn't turn back on. shit

Guess i'm going to try that crank sensor.......

Yeah, you can jumper it. A foot of wire and 3 1/4" male spade lugs is ideal.

I have never seen a bad fuel filter shut a motor off instantly, they always sputter to a stop. This guys motor is just going dead, like an instant off.

                Closing SOON!

well my relay(s) seem to be working fine now. Replacing the fuel pump relay might have solved a little bit of the problem, but the problem still exists.
But I don't see how a fuel filter would be my problem in this case really..

You cannot buy a correct relay for main OR fuel at Radio Shack. BMW uses the same physical shape, but the connections are not the same.

                      :???: Oh well that's a little embarrassing,
They had the same 87, 30, 86, and 85 connections that's why I thought it would work..
Just out of curiosity, what makes them different?

Well, look at the pins on your radio shack relays: you have 30 (com) on the bottom, 87a(NC) and then 87(NO) as the center row.

Then you have 85 and 86 (coils) across from each other, right?

So now look at the pictogram on the side of the bmw relay. See how it has the same stuff in the same sequence? Now, look at the pins on the standard relay and the BMW one: see how 87 is 85 and 30 is 86?

                        Closing SOON!

                          Oh hmm you're right.
But why would it still work on my car if the connections are wrong? weird.

Also another thing, as I was taking apart my engine to fix the head, I noticed this piece is broken

In addition to that, my cam gear cover is broken on one side so it's somewhat loose
And my ignition rotor shows signs of rubbing against my distributor cap

Can this be correlated to my problem?

it has to be jumpering from 87 to 30 somehow, or from 85 to 30.

Yes, that would explain some of your issues. I did point that out earlier, y'know.;)

Changed the relay to proper relays.. nothing. both fuel and main.
cleaned out the cam sensor.. nada.
I'm going to put a cam cover I got from Guten and hope for the best..

if it's not that, its my fuel pump, and if not that, it's my ECU. ahhhhh.
