is it needed(hex bolt holding rotor)

I see alot of people having to drill out the crusty hex bolt that holds the brake rotor to the hub. Im at that step now in getting my old hub/wheel bearing off. I hate that little bastard, that sucker aint coming out. Im probably just going to drill it out.

My Camaro uses a floating type brake rotor, as do other cars. I was wondering if we really need to replace that little screw? opinions? Im going to replace it just in case unless others are leaving it out

    ask yourself...

what is stronger: 4 lug bolts or 1 hex bolt?

it is not necessary. the lug bolts will keep the rotor tight.

It's not needed. It only helps keep the rotor from turning on the hub when trying to install the wheels. If you have wheel studs, it's a non-issue.
