Which oil light is on? The one in the check panel or in the cluster?
The oil light in the check panel is driven by the level sensor in the left side of the oil pan. The cluster light is driven by the oil pressure switch on the right side of the engine. If that light is the one on you shouldn't run the engine until you know whether the light is on because the pressure switch is bad or if it is on because the engine has no oil pressure.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Well the car runs like a champ...there is no shortage of power which only tells me the pressure is up! But thanks for the heads up -I'll find out which one it is...thanks.
mine did the same i thought it was a bad switch, i ending up resetting the service light and it turned the oil light off as well, give it a try. you just have to jump two pins together in the scanner plug and have the ignition on or something i dont remember exactaly just google it it took me a whole 10 seconds to find it last time haha
hope it works if not probably the switch

It's pin #7 to ground this resets the oil service and inspection 1,2 light.
