Any way to make the aux fan constantly on high?

My clutch fan has gone dead, and the replacement seems to be lost in the mail...

Is there any way I could jump something to make the aux fan constantly on high and blow air through my AC condenser so that I don't overheat when stopped?

Kind of an emergency situation, I really need to get moving, but the efan hasn't shown up...

run a wire from the high setting to a switch 12v.

or you could get an 80/88c thermoswitch, and connect the "high" side to both outputs, so it's not running constantly.

This seems like the best option for me (thanks everyone about the switches, but I'm really forgetful! :/) but where would I get a differently spec'ed thermoswitch?

I looked through pelican parts, and found this at 82 degrees: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...ugh%202/87)%20

But I'm not sure if it'll plug into my 1991 318i's electrical connector, and it only seems to have one tempurature?

Would I just take the two hot leads and put a wire between them, leave the rest normal? I'm not very good with wiring either. :/

          Thank you guys!

            you want this PN:
            61 31 8 361 787

you probably just want to connect the "high speed" side to both ends of the thermoswitch and leave the "low speed" disconnected. Otherwise both relays would trip at the same time, which might not be good.

in an emergency you can jump the ground wire to the high speed wire with a paperclip or something to force the fan on.

can anyone draw a picture or show me a diagram of how this should be wired thru the temp switch???

i have been meaning to do this with my m30 and just can't wrap my mind around the wiring... i have a manual switch in my dash now and want it gone. I have an extra 80 degree temp switch to put in a blank spot on the thermostat housing.

it's so simple it's not even funny.

There are 3 wires at the temp switch - ground, high speed, low speed. Cut the high/low speed wires off, connect the high speed wire to the low speed ouput on the switch.

                    Awesome! Thank you!

You wouldn't happen to know which of the three wires is the high would you? What color?

Just snip the high and low, wire them together, attach it to the high, and bam, set. Easy pie.

As long as I can get one of those switch things soon.

                          Found it, it's BK/BR!

EDIT: I... think. Assuming the thing with two different closings is the thermofan switch.
