    Cleaning intake? Hot-tank?

Can I just hot-tank the intake? Anyone done it before? I'm not sure if it will hurt the aluminum. I tried to research a little bit but never found a definitive answer. It's got black crap inside and cosmoline outside that needs to come off. Obviously I could scrub the thing but I just don't have the time.

IF your machine shop has a special bath for aluminum parts then yes, My regulor machine shop does aluminum heads so I had them do my intake, mainly becuase it had a ton of carbon deposits in it, which the guy said were a pain in the ass to clean and he was cusing at the cosmoline

Thanks, thats exactly what I needed to know. I dropped it off today. Should be ready tomorrow along with my parts, so I can put my car back together.

Never hot tank aluminum. All machine shops should know that, but that is not always the case.
