Wiring Map Light R/V Mirror To Door Pin.....

Has anyone wired their R/V mirror w/ map lights to the drivers side door pin switch? Idea is that the map Lights would stay lit/ on until door is closed (or if the light delay relay is working - 5 seconds-or- until th key is turned on)-

Would be a nice feature instead on "just" the standard "on-off" lighting-

I have a Map Light mirror to put in my 325e- just wondered if anyone has acomplished this? :roll:

It's possible, if the power switch on the maplights uses ground to switch on/off (never opened mine). If it switches positive, it would be fairly tough as you'd have to use relays and such

Have you priced the Map Light bulbs lately? I'll use my sparingly thank you. Wired up like this, they would burn out quite quickly.

I think they're $25, 17 retail or something like that, just replaced one last month and was extremely surprised

update you can get bulbs for 7 dollars a piece from BMA from Patrick BMW part # is 63311375003 I order 4 that a steel .
