15" basketweaves (4 bolt) How much do they weigh?

I don't wanna detract from the fun with my little 4 cylinder, and 14" wheels are darn light, 14 lb, 4 oz. So, I wonder how much I will add if I do 15's? I know 16's will weigh a lot more, I don't wanna go too far, though it would look good. Heck the ride is already fairly harsh as it is with sport suspension.

    Thanks in advance!

I've heard they tip the scales somewhere between 15 to 16 pounds. Not bad when you think about it. If you can get a pound for every inch in rim height (i.e. 15" rim at 15lbs.) for a cast-construction wheel, you're in pretty good shape.

then add the weight of spacers, unless you got the euro 15" baskets. although the spacers are so close to the center hub that it wouldn't make much of a noticable impact on performance

Pete, what baskets are 15" and not euro, ix? Hmm, euro ones are ET24, right? I didn't ask yet if they are 41 or 24.

yeah, you'd need spacers w/ the iX ones... better ask 'bout that

Pete is right about the "ix" version of these 15" basketweaves. The all-wheel drive E30 utilized a slightly different hub configuration and thus have wheels with an offset that's not what you would typically use on a standard E30 (unless your'e ok with using spacers). Unfortunately, I'm not certain about what the offset of those "ix" wheels are so you will have to dig a bit deeper to get an answer.

As for the Euro spec 15" basketweaves, these wheels were standard equipment on UK market E30s which were referred to as the 325i Sport. The wheels are 15x7 and have an ET24 offset. I know someone out here in NorCal that has a set of these very wheels on his '90 325is (lowered with Bilstein Sports and M3 springs) and he's running a 205/55 tire size with no rubbing issues.

              Hope this helps.

what would you rather have... euro 15" baskets or Ronal LS's?

Well, the LS's are sweet, but a good deal is a good deal, and the BBS aren't bad either.
