Changing Oil Pan Gasket on 325 IX 89

    Helppp please!!!

I absolotly need to change my oil pan gasket on my BMW 325 IX 89 but.... its very strong how its build..

Like you see in this picture, de CV joint seem to pass IN the oil pan..WTF i dont understand.

Other think, does the oil pan past between the engine block and the front cross-member (where are locate the power steering pump and tie-rod mounting)

Please help, if some one have do this job, un expication of each step is very appreciate :-)

    Thx a lot for help

yeah.. all 4wd bimmers are like that. you have to remove the cv axels, which inolves everything else about removing your struts plus undoing a 30mm hub nut that's torqued to 240ft-lbs, pressing the shafts out of the hubs and yanking them out of the diff (they are clipped in, just pull straight out).

then you also need to remove the subframe (gotta support the engine, but not by the oil pan), which is itself a nightmare as the steering rack goes through it. then you have access to the oil pan.

You're lucky you have a 2 piece pan. No 325s have this, and iX are especially fucked because the axle passes through the pan.
