    locks wont stay down

    heres the deal.

locks on my car are shitting the bed.

when i try to lock my car (from the drivers side door and the drunk), all the pins will go down (except the driver's side), but less than a second later they will come back up.

so there is no way to lock my car, its extremely annoying. also, the driver's side pin will not go down no matter how hard i push.

i took off the door car and sprayed a bunch of stuff with WD40, but it didn't do anything.

none of the arms seem to be bent, and i've been reading and searching all day but cant find a solution.

can anyone out there help me.

    thanks, marco

something is binding up, that will happen for example if your door is not closed all the way. start by cleaning the locks and making sure they are free and clear of any obstructions.

BTW wd-40 is the most worthless lubricant ever. most of it evaporates and it leaves a sticky residue behind that will gum everything up. use carbon instead to lubricate the locks.

mine used to do that when the passenger door inside handle would stick a litlle. check all the handles inside to make sure they are all the way back in the returned position

has the car been in a collision? did someone kick your front fender? the lock control module is designed to unlock the doors in a collision (maily roll over).... if that happens you need a new lock control mod

Check the internals of the driver door and make sure nothing is disconnected or bound up. When I bought my car the keyless entry worked for all locks except the driver door, turns out the pin was just disconnected from the lock mechanism.

The door panel is fairly easy to take off, and the Bentley diagrams make sense once you look inside the door.

I had a similar problem, and traced it to a dirty connectors in the drivers door jamb connector. I pulled the boot off, took the connector apart, and sprayed the heck out of everything with an electrical connector cleaner. When it dried and I put it back together, all my door locks worked great and have continued to work. Apparently this is a common problem, with water and dirt getting into this connector.

if one lock won't lock (make sense?) then all the others will just pop back up. If I hold one of the locks up from the inside and have someone lock it from the outside or vice versa the other locks will go down but then aftera a second maybe they pop back up. If you get the driver side door one to stop binding that should fix the problem.
