Cleaning Oil and Water wells during head gasket replacement

Hi everyone i am replacing my head gasket and have cleaned the block surface with 3M Roloc pads.

Now I crap all down the water and oil wells, I just want to know if there would be any issues if I was to poor kerosen down the wells to clean them out, then drain them out via the water and oil plugs?

Dose anyone see an issue with this?

    Cheers Guys

what about some kinda shop vacuum with a custom home built nozzle to fit into the water jacket openings? suck up all the crap that fell down in there. is the bottom end of themotor still together ? i would not advise putting other chemicals into the engine like that could cause harm to bearings, cylinder walls etc...

I still have the pump and thurmo off so I am just going to shove a hose in there and wash it all out.

As for the oil wells, a mechanic suggested to me once that if I wanted to clean all the carbon crap out of my car to put a bottle of kero in the oil run it for about 10min then drain and replace with new oil. So I am assuming that I should have no issues putting a bit down the oil wells to clean them out.

I use a quart of ATF to flush a motor, don't know about kerosene.

Kero is ok for the oil passages, just leave the drain plug out and flush them. (Diesel is a bit cheaper I think)

I wouldn't use it for coolant though. Open the block drain and use plain soap and water.

I lol'd. I have a shop vac attachment with a rubbery straw (that I obtained from a drink cup that a local Italian place served my kids a drink cup with) duct taped to it. Works great for drying out head bolt holes too.
