I cut my old CSB off with a grinder and I just pushed the new one in. Havent ever had an issue. It's quite the push, but nothing that requires the white flag and taking the driveshaft to a shop to have it done.

If the driveshaft is really out of wack, you'll feel it. Then you can rotate it 180 degrees to correct the problem.

I e-mailed Pelican Parts pissed that they didn't mention lining up the driveshaft piecse, their response:
Hi there. I have done this replacement, both lining up the driveshaft, and also not lining up the driveshaft. In reality, it shouldn't really matter if it's lined up, but you're right, it's a best practices thing. The factory marked the driveshaft components so that they could be mated together when reassembled - if you're still worried, you should be able to see those marks on there and readjust.

That's good to know - but I think I'll still make my own custom marks. :)
Question for people who have had their CSB fail or degrade.
I've been noticing a new vibration in the middle to rear part of my 1991 318i. It happens mainly when I'm on the gas at 75+ MPH or it happens more when I have the AC on. Did any of you guys notice a difference in driveshaft vibration with the AC on or off?
I ordered all the parts this past Monday from eap4parts to replace the CBS and the guibo since I'll be down there anyways. I also ordered all new bolts, clips, etc since I hate it how the supporting parts you need to get it all back together find a way of stripping or breaking.
