Bonus project: down the road sometime, consider pulling apart your door locks, cleaning them out, and setting them up to match your ignition keys!

Glad to hear it's up and running. The new cylinder sits in the housing okay with that hole in it?
Slowly, slowly piecing together a real car..

exactly what i was thinking! i'm tired of the hassle and worry of two keys.

yeah, the cylinder is in with the hole, but it sits snug with no play so i'm fine with it. also, should someone else break a key down the line, i already have an escape hole.

next project: disassembling the hack-job alarm system i just discovered under the kick panel.

I had a crazy alarm system in my car when I got it too. I literally ripped it all out and in under 5 minutes, everything alarm related was disconnected and the car was good to go. Alarms are nuts man.

you're telling me dude, the old ignition switch was spliced every-which-way so i haven't played with it yet. everything is electrical-taped and hanging. i knew it was all bunched up, but didn't realize how hectic it was until now haha.
